OUR APPROACH | NGA WAWATA

nurturing growth & diversity through respect

We believe in empowering and respecting our tamariki – helping them become confident, competent, free-thinkers. Every moment of every day is a teaching moment and we treasure these moments with your child. We encourage questions and love documenting and watching as they grow and learn through play. Every day is a new adventure – a new day to learn, to play, to grow, and to connect with people, nature, and the world around us.

OUR ROOMS | Ā MĀTOU RŪMA

spaces for all

We have three rooms in our centre, the infant, toddler and pre-school rooms. Our rooms and outdoor spaces are designed with tamariki in mind, we endeavour to ensure that the environment is warm, inviting and allows for the tamariki to learn and explore through their play.

CONNECTION | RANGITĀMIRO

keeping you in the loop

We pride ourselves on engaging with our community and ensuring that your input and voices are heard in our centre. We value your input greatly and encourage your involvement in the centre. We encourage daily interactions with whānau, communication with you face to face and via digital means ensures that your child's needs are being met.

Whānau events and special events held throughout the year are an exciting opportunity for you to be involved in centre life.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM | TE WHĀRIKI

child development and documentation

At Leaps and Bounds, we weave a local curriculum (or whāriki) based on the principles, strands and goals found in the Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whāriki. Te Whāriki supports every child to be strong in their identity, language and culture and provides the basis for assessing the learning that is happening for your child while they are here with us. Kaiako will observe, document and plan for your child’s learning as they interact with the world around them and their peers through play. We will document this learning through Storypark. This secure space allows you to be involved with your child’s learning and development along with anyone else that you wish to share it with (including family overseas).
